3-Day First Aid at Work/ 2-Day First Aid at Work Requalification
It is a requirement of Health & Safety law that employers should ensure the health and safety and welfare of their employees and the public. Employees must also provide adequate personnel, training and equipment to render first aid to their employees.
This qualification covers the 3 day First Aid at Work course and the 2 day First Aid at Work requalification course. All successful students will be issued with a new First Aid at Work Certificate which lasts for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications.
Course Summary:
- The Role and Responsibility of a First Aider
- Assessing an Incident
- Managing an Unresponsive Casualty who is Breathing Normally.
- Managing and Unresponsive Casualty who is not Breathing Normally
- Recognise an Assist a Casualty who is Choking
- Managing a Casualty who is Wounded and Bleeding
- Managing a Casualty who is in Shock
- Managing a Casualty with a Minor Injury
- Administer Fist Aid for a range of conditions
- Managing a Casualty for a range of major illnesses
Qualification Structure:
This is a single unit qualification, assessed by a 12 question multi-choice examination, followed by 3 practical assessments, including Dealing with an Unconscious Casualty, Incident Management and CPR. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 9 correct answers out of 12 in the multi-choice examination before moving on to the practical assessments. The practical assessments will be conducted by independent assessors who have not been involved in the course.
