Level 2 National Award For General Purpose Security Dog Handlers

The aim of The Level 2 National Award for General Purpose Security Dog Handlers is to give each learner the information they will need in order to effectively and competently undergo the provision of a professional level of service as a General Purpose Security Dog Handler.
The programme is designed to meet the requirements of any person wishing to become a General Purpose Security Dog Handler; whom already has experience as a Security Officer (SIA Code of Behaviour), In some cases it may also be suited to those persons with experience in the HM Armed Forces, Police and Prison service who wish to transfere those skills into the Dog Handler Role.

Qualification Structure:
This course is delivered over a number of weeks to ensure competency, having a minimum of 50 guided learning hours.
Learners with an untrained canine should expect additional hours of training with their canine.
This qualification isassessed by 40 question multiple-choice examination (1 hour) and multiple practical assessments.
 
IT IS COMPULSORY THAT AN SIA LICENCE IS HELD PRIOR TO COMENCING THE COURSE
