Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace
The Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace provides progression from the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace and is intended principally for those who are operating in a supervisory or managerial role. Qualification holders will have gained a wide range of knowledge on health and safety Law, the hazards present in a workplace and how to implement effective and necessary controls. This award will equip candidates with the skills necessary for the effective supervision of staff. It will also focus on the importance of the health and safety culture of a business which will be an invaluable resource to those taking the qualification.
This qualification is applicable for any private or public sector working environment. Candidates working towards the Level 3 qualification will know that supervisors and managers have legal and moral obligations to ensure health and safety within a business and that this includes obligations to employees, contractors, suppliers and members of the public. They will also be able to take responsibility for ensuring the competency of the workforce and for identifying hazards, implementing controls and taking appropriate corrective action when necessary. Furthermore, holders of the Level 3 Award will assist businesses to demonstrate their legal requirement to engage a 'competent person'.
The Ofqual approved Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification has been developed specifically for insertion onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework with full support from ENTO. It is therefore fully relevant to industry and regulatory standards as well as being recognized by The Health and Safety Executive, Independent Auditors and Enforcement Officers.

Qualification Structure:
This is a single unit qualification, assessed by 60 question multiple-choice examination. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 40/60. Candidates scoring 50/60 or more will receive a Credit pass.
The duration of the examinationis 2 hours.
