Physical Intervention Skills
The Physical Intervention unit of the new Door Supervisor qualification only cover low-level,non-restrictive techniques. Increased levels of the violence may require that more restrictive techniques need to be used. It is recommended that if Door Supervisor envisage needing to use futher techniques, that they undertake futher accredited training.
The Physical Intervention training which you will paticipate on WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT to use excessive force in more, remember that any force used MUST be appropriate and justifiable in the court of law.

The legal and professional implications of using physical interventions
Reducing the risk of harm when using physical intervention
Good practice following physical interventions
Practical training in (non-pain related physical skills to protect yourself and others from assault)
Practical training in (non-pain related standing holding and escorting techniques including non-restrictive and restrictive skills)
Gstc also offer a one day training program each month for those who have completed the award for the purpose of skill development and maintainence.
